Just checking in to say hello to everyone in these very hard times for us all.
It's very strange here having no one in the hotel. I have realised how much I miss interacting with my guests (whether it be chatting over a cup of tea or talking about the lovely town of Southport); especially when I know I'm meant to see many familiar faces at certain times of the year.
Chris and I have been very proactive by improving what we can in the hotel:
-Room 1 toilet has been re-tiled
-Ensuites have been re-grouted
-Room 3 has a new modern toilet and new flooring,
-All hallways have been painted and doors and fixed creaking -floors!! No more ghost noises lol.
We are now planning to do something with the guest lounge soon!
Please note I said Chris and I; I must confess it is all Chris (I just like writing lists :)
The smaller guest accommodations have really come together in Southport; everyone is helping each other with ideas on what we can do in these difficult times and solving any problems we come across. It is such a lovely community to be in. Especially when everyone is having the same feelings of worry, frustration and angst about not knowing what the future holds. Moreover, when we do come out the other side, we will be ready and prepared: welcoming you all with big hugs and smiles. (We all miss the hugs!)
